Celebrate the Arts this Summer in NYC!
Summer for the City is a free, 10-week summer festival presented by Lincoln Center in New York City, right across the street from the Empire Hotel. The festival features a wide variety of events, including music, dance, theater, comedy, film, visual arts, and family programming-- something for everyone!
Highlights of Summer for the City include:
- The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, which performs a series of concerts in celebration of Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langrée's twenty-first and final year with the orchestra.
- The BAAND Together Dance Festival, which showcases the work of emerging and established dance companies from around the world.
- The Hip-Hop Week, which celebrates the golden 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop with a campus-wide celebration of the music, fashion, dance, poetry, and global cultural influence of Hip-Hop.
- The Silent Discos, which are outdoor dance parties where participants wear headphones to listen to different DJs.
- The Family Programming, which includes a variety of events for children and families, such as storytime, puppet shows, and concerts.
Summer for the City is a great opportunity to experience the best of New York City's arts and culture scene, conveniently located beside the Empire Hotel.
