Cleaning, Health & Safety at Empire Hotel

COVID-19 Policies

HEALTH + SAFETY PROCEDURES

Please ask a Front Desk Associate for the latest updates and changes to the guidance and protocols below.  Do not hesitate to ask questions, we are here to help! We recommend following the current CDC or World Health Organization guidance and checking requirements for travel prior to your departure.

CLEANING & SANITATION UPDATE

We have enhanced our cleaning procedures to comply with CDC best practices for preventing COVID-19 and other viral transmissions. This includes changing our chemicals to Medical-Grade disinfectant and establishing a three-step deep cleaning process for every room. We reduced touchpoints in guest rooms and public areas, and hand sanitizer is now available in and around our common spaces.

SANITATION & MASK USAGE

We believe in responsible and safe travel while staying vigilant and following procedures and protocols developed in consideration of guidance shared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other leading organizations and experts, and local government requirements and guidance.

Face masks or coverings are not mandated, but are left to each guests’ own comfort level.

F&B PROGRAMS AND OUTLET UPDATE

All Food & Beverage outlets are following state, local and CDC safety guidelines. All outlets are open for both indoor, outdoor and to go service with the necessary CDC-recommended restrictions, such as encouraged social distancing, in mind.

HEALTH CONCERNS

All associates have been given clear instructions on how to respond swiftly and report all presumed cases of COVID-19 on property. Associates are instructed to stay home if they do not feel well and are instructed to contact a manager if they notice a coworker or guest with known symptoms of COVID-19.  Associates and guests who are exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19 while at the property are instructed to notify hotel staff immediately.

CLEANING PRODUCTS & PROTOCOLS

Our hotel uses cleaning products and protocols that meet EPA guidelines and are approved for use and effective against viruses, bacteria and other airborne and blood borne pathogens. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces such as the Front Desk, bell carts, elevators and elevator buttons, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys and locks, dining surfaces and seating areas.

LAUNDRY

All bed linen and laundry will continue to be washed at a high temperature to sterilize and clean in accordance with CDC guidelines. The frequency of air filter replacement and HVAC system cleaning has been increased and fresh air exchange has been maximized.

ROOM RECOVERY PROTOCOL

In the event of presumptive case of COVID-19 the guest’s room will be removed from service and quarantined. The guest room will not be returned to service until case has been confirmed or cleared. In the event of a positive case, the room will only be returned to service after undergoing an enhanced sanitization protocol.
